dc.description Introduction: Drug adherence is an increasingly important phenomenon for health workers; it is worrying that the lack of adherence causes difficulty in the recovery of the sick person, decreases quality of life and increases costs of health services. Objective: To describe the pharmacological adherence of the person with chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis. Materials and Methods: A descriptive study was conducted with a sample of 109 adults undergoing hemodialysis, to whom were made a home visits, in which they applied the Morisky-Green test, test battle and counting was performed to calculate drug percentage of compliance (PC). Results: 55% of patients stop taking the medication when not feeling well, 15% forget to take while making 85% on time, and do not stop if they are safe. Furthermore it was established that pharmacological presentation of some drugs could influence decision thereof. Conclusions: taking many medications can cause tiredness and fatigue and changes the story of their lives. The multidisciplinary team should promote self-care and adaptation as a strategy to improve drug adherence. en-US
dc.description Introducción: La adherencia farmacológica es un fenómeno cada día más importante para los trabajadores de la salud. Es preocupante ver cómo la falta de adherencia ocasiona dificultad en el proceso de recuperación de la persona enferma, disminuye su calidad de vida e incrementa los costos en salud. Objetivo: Describir la adherencia farmacológica de la persona con enfermedad renal crónica en tratamiento de hemodiálisis. Materiales y Método: investigación descriptiva, transversal, con una muestra de 109 adultos en tratamiento de hemodiálisis, a quienes se les realizaron visitas domiciliarias, en las cuales se aplicaron el test Morisky-Green, test batalla y se realizó el conteo de medicamentos para calcular el porcentaje de cumplimiento (PC). Resultados: el 55% de los pacientes deja de tomar la medicación cuando les sienta mal, el 15% se olvida de tomarlo mientras 85% lo toma a la hora indicada, y no suspenden el tratamiento cuando se encuentran bien. Conclusiones: la toma de tantos medicamentos causa cansancio y fatiga, además, el tener una enfermedad crónica cambia la historia de sus vidas. El equipo multidisciplinario debe promover el autocuidado y la adaptación como estrategia para mejorar la adherencia farmacológica. (DUAZARY 2013 No. 1, 7 - 16)  es-ES
