dc.description This manuscript presents the process and results of a research study aimed at identifying how entrepreneurship is integrated with the substantive functions of Higher Education Institutions in the Urabá region (Antioquia). The research follows a qualitative approach, with the analysis of two methods: phenomenology and hermeneutics. Semi-structured interviews are used as data collection technique. The participants were six higher education institutions in the Urabá region. The results reveal that entrepreneurship should be considered as a transversal axis, among the three substantive functions: research, teaching, and outreach. It is concluded that entrepreneurship is an opportunity to generate social, economic and academic transformation and impact in the region. It is recommended to strengthen the ties between entrepreneurship and the basic substantive functions of higher education,allowing visibility to the new productive units in the Urabá Antioqueño region. en-US
dc.description Este manuscrito presenta el proceso y resultado de una investigación que busca identificar cómo se articula el emprendimiento con las funciones sustantivas en las Instituciones de Educación Superior en la región de Urabá (Antioquia). El enfoque utilizado para su desarrollo es del orden cualitativo, con dos métodos de análisis: fenomenología y hermenéutica. Así mismo, se utiliza la entrevista semiestructurada como técnica de recolección de información. Los participantes son seis instituciones de educación superior de la región de Urabá. Los resultados determinan que, dentro de las tres funciones sustantivas, investigación, docencia y extensión, se debe considerar el emprendimiento como un eje transversal entre ellas. Se concluye que el emprendimiento es una oportunidad para generar transformación e impacto del orden social, económico y académico en la región. Se recomienda fortalecer aspectos vinculantes entre el emprendimiento y las funciones sustantivas básicas de la educación superior que permitan visibilizar las nuevas unidades productivas que se crean en la región del Urabá antioqueño. es-ES
