dc.description The present study evaluated the diversity of aquatic Coleopteras in a section of the lower part of the Ancho River in the municipality of Dibulla, La Guajira (Colombia). Sampling was conducted between august and november 2016 in different microhabitats (leaf litter, sediment, macrophytes, stones and roots) with a Surber net of 250 μm mesh opening. Physicochemical variables were also measured in order to determine existing relationships with individuals. A total of 621 Coleopteras were collected, distributed in 6 families and 9 genera. The most abundant families were Elmidae and Psephenidae. Of the microhabitats sampled, sediment reflected the highest abundance. The genera Hydrocanthus (Dytiscidae), Hydrochus (Hydrochidae), Megadytes (Dytiscidae), Micrapate (Bostrichidae) and Psephenops (Psephenidae) are recorded for the first time for the region. In this study, the Elmidae family was the one with the highest diversity of genera, coinciding with that reported by other authors. The explanatory variables of the ACC indicate that the genera Heterelmis, Phanocerus, Psephenops and Macrelmis prefer macrophyte microhabitats and roots. The results of this study indicate that the Ancho River constitutes an important reservoir of aquatic coleopteran diversity for the rivers of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta (SNSM). . en-US
dc.description El presente estudio evaluó la diversidad de coleópteros acuáticos en un tramo de la parte baja del río Ancho en el municipio de Dibulla, La Guajira (Colombia). Los muestreos se realizaron entre agosto y noviembre del 2016 en distintos microhábitats (hojarasca, sedimento, macrófitas, piedras y raíces) con una red Surber de 250 μm de abertura de malla. También se midieron variables fisicoquímicas con el fin de determinar relaciones existentes con los individuos. Se recolectaron 621 coleópteros, distribuidos en seis familias y nueve géneros. Las familias más abundantes fueron Elmidae y Psephenidae. De los microhábitats muestreados, el sedimento reflejó la mayor abundancia. Se registraron por primera vez para la región los géneros Hydrocanthus (Dytiscidae), Hydrochus (Hydrochidae), Megadytes (Dytiscidae), Micrapate (Bostrichidae) y Psephenops (Psephenidae). En este estudio la familia Elmidae fue la que registró mayor diversidad de géneros, coincidiendo con lo hallado por otros autores. Las variables explicativas del análisis de correspondencia canónica (ACC) indican que existe preferencia de los géneros Heterelmis, Phanocerus, Psephenops y Macrelmis por los microhábitats macrófitas y raíces. Los resultados de este trabajo indican que el río Ancho constituye un importante reservorio de diversidad de coleópteros acuáticos para los ríos de la Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta (SNSM). es-ES
