dc.description This empirical and analytical study follows a descriptive - transversal design in order to assess the negative expectations and risk of suicide in students of 9°, 10° and 11° year of an educational institution in the Department of Quindío, counting with a personal questionnaire and the Beck hopelessness scale as tools to do so. The risk of suicide is an issue of local, national and global public health that affects the quality of life of teenagers and youngsters from the “Eje Cafetero” area. The research showed that 8 out of every 10 students have a moderate risk, and the ages of prevalence are 15 and 16 years old. Bullying, domestic violence and permanent sadness contribute to increase this risk. en-US
dc.description Esta investigación es de tipo empírico analítico con diseño descriptivo- transversal cuyo objetivo es realizar una evaluación de las expectativas negativas y tipo de riesgo de cometer suicidio en estudiantes de 9°, 10° y 11° de una Institución Educativa del departamento del Quindío, para lo cual se aplicó una ficha de caracterización y la escala de Desesperanza de Beck, Weissman, Lester, & Trexler. El riesgo de suicidio es un problema de salud pública local, nacional y mundial que afecta la calidad de vida de adolescentes y jóvenes del eje cafetero. El estudio indicó que 8 de cada 10 estudiantes tiene riesgo moderado y las edades en las que prevalece son los 15 y 16 años. El bullying, la violencia intrafamiliar y la tristeza permanente contribuyen al aumento de este riesgo. es-ES
