dc.description Thanks to globalization, there are different patterns within the New Economic Geography, which explains the causality of phenomena of economic agglomeration in particular geographical areas, which lead to the strengthening of world economic powers. Within the World Trade Organization are the trade agreements. These agreements have become a framework for bilateral negotiations, in which topics in order to optimize trade relations, which are governed by certain international treaties. The problem developed in the paper is, how intellectual properties issues work together with these agreements and, in turn, how the WTO-plus generate an environment of fierce competition where countries with economic capabilities, such as Colombia, must face a refined economic clusters such as the European Union and subject to its rules; which affects national competitiveness. en-US
dc.description Gracias a la globalización se han empezado a notar patrones dentro de la Nueva Geografía Económica, que explica la causalidad de los fenómenos de aglomeración económica en espacios geográficos particulares, los cuales conducen al fortalecimiento de las potencias económicas mundiales. Dentro de la Organización Mundial de Comercio (OMC), nacen los Acuerdos Comerciales. Estos tratados se han convertido en un marco de referencia para las negociaciones bilaterales, en los cuales se tratan temas con el objetivo de optimizar las relaciones comerciales, que están regidas por ciertos tratados internacionales. La problemática desarrollada en el artículo es, cómo los temas de propiedad intelectual funcionan en conjunto con estos acuerdos y, a su vez, cómo los denominados OMC-plus generan un ambiente de competencia feroz donde países con las capacidades económicas, como Colombia, deben enfrentarse a “clusters” económicos refinados como la Unión Europea y someterse a sus reglas de juego; lo cual afecta la competitividad nacional. es-ES
