dc.description Informed consent is not only a right of a patient or someone who undergos either to an operation or a simple medical examination, but is also an obligation of the health professional to inform and explain always to the patient first or in case he-she is mentally uncapable, is a minor or underage so the doctor should inform and explain the risk to his/her family even if they are minimal, they have to be explained in a clear and understandable language to the patient or family members. In addition to using a different consent according to each procedure, if this does not happen, the doctor or the health professional assumes all risks compromising too unilaterally the center where care services are provided by him.  en-US
dc.description El consentimiento informado no es solo un derecho que tiene un enfermo o alguien que se someta bien sea a una intervención quirúrgica o a un simple examen médico, sino que es también una obligación del profesional de la salud de informar y explicar siempre al paciente primero o en caso de incapacidad mental o por minoría de edad a sus familiares todos los riesgos, por mínimos que sean en un lenguaje claro y entendible para el paciente, también el profesional puede rehusarse a practicar un tratamiento que él considere un fracaso o que no va con sus preceptos morales, además de utilizar un consentimiento diferente según cada procedimiento, si esto no sucede, el médico o profesional de la salud asume todos los riesgos en forma unilateral comprometiendo también la del centro asistencial donde preste sus servicios.
