dc.description The topic of invasion ecology has been of interest to several researchers; currently, introduced species is considered a major threat to conservation of biodiversity, especially in island ecosystems. Various field surveys were conducted from April 2008 to May 2011 in the northern keys of Ciego de Avila with the aim of inventorying exotic plants species. In the area there are twenty seven alien species, belonging to twenty five genera and seventeen families, and these are better represented in the evergreen forest and “ruderal” vegetation. Most of the plants listed herein came from Asia and America, and their arrival and further settlement in the study area have been favored by increasing tourism development. Of these, seven plant species were categorized as invasive-transformer, eight as potentially invasive, one as naturalized plants no invasive and eleven as “subspontaneous. en-US
dc.description La ecología de la invasión ha sido siempre un tema de interés. En la actualidad, la introducción de especies es considerada una de las principales amenazas para la conservación de la biodiversidad, principalmente en ecosistemas insulares. Entre abril de 2008 y mayo de 2011 se realizaron recorridos en la cayería norte de Ciego de Ávila con el objetivo de inventariar las plantas introducidas. En el área existen 27 especies alóctonas, que pertenecen a 25 géneros y 17 familias, siendo éstas mejor representadas en el bosque siempre verde micrófilo y en la vegetación ruderal. La mayoría de las plantas listadas proceden de Asia y América, y su llegada al cayo se relaciona con el creciente desarrollo turístico. De éstas, siete son invasoras-transformadoras, ocho se clasifican como potencialmente invasoras, una es naturalizada no invasora y 11 son subespontáneas.  es-ES
