dc.description The generalized crisis in Venezuela has manifested itself in several important events, including the change in the migration pattern with the departure of approximately 5 million Venezuelans to different parts of the world, as well as the closure of the border area shared with Colombia decreed by President Nicolás Maduro from August 2015 to September 2016. Both events are part of a context in which the life and mobility of the Wayúu people, ancestral inhabitants of this territory, whose productive and reproductive practices depend on mobility and exchange in this space, have also been altered. This proposal is based on the results obtained in a qualitative study on the changes mentioned above, for which, in addition to the ethnographic exercise of direct observation, 17 interviews were conducted with Wayúu people in Maicao (La Guajira). The main results showed that at least three important transformations can be distinguished in mobility as a life defense strategy. The first is related to a relative lack of (mobility) manifested in the low level of circularity in the border territory. The second is characterized by the more permanent migration of some Wayúu into Colombian territory and the third has to do with the return to the territories. All this allows us to understand borders as socially and culturally produced spaces and mobility as a fundamental practice for living and resisting, especially for cross-border communities. en-US
dc.description La crisis generalizada que se vive en Venezuela se ha manifestado en varios hechos importantes. Uno de ellos es el cambio en el patrón migratorio. Aproximadamente 5 millones de venezolanos han emigrado hacia distintas partes del mundo. Otro suceso es el cierre de la zona fronteriza compartida con Colombia decretado por el presidente Nicolás Maduro desde agosto de 2015 hasta septiembre de 2016. Ambos acontecimientos hacen parte de un contexto en el que también se ha visto alterada la vida y la movilidad del pueblo Wayúu, habitantes ancestrales de este territorio. Las prácticas productivas y reproductivas de esta comunidad dependen de la movilidad y el intercambio en este espacio. La presente propuesta parte de los resultados obtenidos en un estudio de corte cualitativo sobre los cambios anteriormente señalados. Además del ejercicio etnográfico de observación directa, este estudio realizó 17 entrevistas a personas Wayúu en Maicao (La Guajira). Los principales resultados evidenciaron que se pueden distinguir por lo menos tres transformaciones importantes en la movilidad como estrategia de defensa de la vida. La primera está relacionada con una relativa in (movilidad) manifestada en la poca circularidad en el territorio fronterizo. La segunda se caracteriza por la migración de forma más permanente por parte de algunos/as wayúu hacia territorio colombiano. Y la tercera tiene que ver con el retorno hacia los territorios. Todo esto permite comprender las fronteras como espacios social y culturalmente producidos y a la movilidad como una práctica fundamental para vivir y resistir, especialmente para las comunidades transfronterizas. es-ES
