dc.description The media have been responsible for generating misinformation in society regarding the crime of femicide, which is included in the Colombian legal system thanks to Law 1761 of 2015 (Rosa Elvira Cely). The inclusion of the aforementioned law created confusion in the population, because it was considered as punitive populism, without taking into account that femicide is a public health problem. Ignorance of this issue led them to reject it when it was included as an autonomous crime. However, its recognition was important, since in homicide the key point of the crime was not taken into account, which is that a woman is murdered because she is a woman. In Colombia and in many places, women's rights have been violated due to cultural and social issues, due to the stigmatization created by it and propagated by the media, a reprehensible behavior because no one can dispose of the life of a woman just because she is a woman. en-US
dc.description Los medios de comunicación se han encargado de generar desinformación en la sociedad frente al delito de feminicidio, el cual está incluido en el ordenamiento jurídico colombiano gracias a la Ley 1761 de 2015 (Rosa Elvira Cely). La inclusión de la mencionada ley creó confusión en la población, debido a que fue considerado populismo punitivo, sin tomar en cuenta que el feminicidio es incluso un problema de salud pública. La ignorancia frente a este los llevó a rechazarlo cuando se incluyó como delito autónomo. Sin embargo, fue importante su reconocimiento puesto que en el homicidio el punto clave del delito no era tenido en cuenta, y es que se asesine a una mujer por su condición de ser mujer. En Colombia y en muchos lugares se han vulnerado los derechos de las mujeres por razones culturales y sociales, debido a la estigmatización creada por la misma y que ha sido propagada por los medios de comunicación, un comportamiento reprochable por cuanto nadie puede disponer de la vida de una mujer por el hecho de serlo. es-ES
