dc.description The objective of this research is to identify the role of rural women in the department of Magdalena, for this purpose, the qualitative methodology was adopted with a narrative type design. Triangulation was carried out through field diaries, focus group workshops and life stories. As a result, it was found that rural women perform the three roles of rural women. The educational level was related to the way in which women exercised their maternity. At the socioeconomic level, the exercise of the reproductive role is made difficult when women are heads of household, in these cases this role begins as a necessity and not as a projection of life. Regarding working conditions, gender-based discrimination was detected, a low representation of women in decision-making processes within the productive process and a growing involvement of women within the banana sector of thedepartment of Magdalena. en-US
dc.description El objetivo de esta investigación es identificar el rol de la mujer rural en el departamento del Magdalena. Para tal fin, se adoptó la metodología cualitativa con un diseño de tipo narrativo y se realizó triangulación a través de los diarios de campo, los talleres en los grupos focales y las historias de vida. Como resultado, se encontró que las mujeres participantes ejercen los tres roles de la mujer rural. El nivel educativo se relacionó con la forma en que las mujeres ejercieron su maternidad. A nivel socioeconómico, el ejercicio del rol reproductivo se dificulta cuando las mujeres son jefas de hogar, en cuyo caso el rol inicia como una necesidad y no como una proyección de vida. En cuanto a las condiciones laborales, se detectó discriminación basada en género, una baja representación de las mujeres en los procesos de toma de decisiones dentro del proceso productivo y una creciente vinculación de mujeres dentro del sector bananero del departamento del Magdalena. es-ES
