dc.description This paper presents a series of reflections about the current state of the school environmental education. In order to this, we deploy a critical perspective on the teaching of environmental education. We analyze the role of the Colombian authorities responsible for promoting the preservation and conservation of the same, and the role of the school, the institution responsible for formation future citizens. The document contains some legal and theoretical foundations of the importance of environmental education in the formation of an environmental culture. Traditionally environmental education in Colombian school has been characterized by the activism of the teacher and the lack of curriculum planning in line with the needs of the context and the guidelines established by some international organizations, including UNESCO and OEI. The authors of the paper believe that a solution to the current teaching of environmental education in secondary education is to promote a methodological strategy model based on the contributions of constructivism and the need to direct the teaching - learning as a research activity. en-US
dc.description Este artículo presenta una serie de reflexiones sobre el estado actual de la educación ambiental escolar. Para esto, se implementa un punto de vista crítico sobre la enseñanza de la educación ambiental. Se analiza el papel de las autoridades colombianas responsables de promover la preservación y conservación del ambiente, así como el rol de la escuela, institución responsable de formar a los futuros ciudadanos. El documento contiene algunos fundamentos legales y teóricos sobre la importancia de la educación en la formación de una cultura ambiental. Tradicionalmente la educación ambiental en la escuela colombiana ha estado caracterizada por el activismo del profesor y la falta de una planificación curricular acorde con las necesidades del contexto y los lineamientos establecidos por algunos organismos internacionales, entre ellos la Unesco y la OEI. El artículo considera que una solución a la enseñanza actual de la educación ambiental en la escuela es impulsar un modelo de estrategia metodológico fundamentado en los aportes del constructivismo y en la necesidad de dirigir el proceso de enseñanza – aprendizaje como una actividad investigativa.  es-ES
