dc.description The stigmatization of HIV carriers caused by the low level of information about the way of transmission and the lack of sexual education to prevent the spread of infection, violates their fundamental rights. The aim of this article is to reflect on the thesis and, from it, there will be a reflection and analysis of three fundamental issues: HIV when it is a protagonist in commercial sex, HIV and fundamental rights and, finally, the right to health and its relationship with sex education. Thus, the most frequent social environments of discrimination are at work and in the family, since it is there where society imposes a label on HIV positive people to avoid sharing with them and thus “infecting” them; despite the fact that stigma does not have a biological basis because there are already ways to control and prevent the virus. In short, it is a social challenge, on the one hand, to understand that people living with HIV are not a danger to society, and on the other hand, to promote health and sexual education. en-US
dc.description La estigmatización de las personas portadoras de VIH, causada por el bajo nivel de información sobre la forma de transmisión y la falta de educación sexual para prevenir el contagio vulnera sus derechos fundamentales. El objetivo de este artículo es reflexionar sobre la tesis planteada y, a partir de esta, hacer una reflexión y un análisis de tres temas fundamentales: el VIH cuando es protagonista en el sexo comercial; la persona VIH y los derechos fundamentales; y, finalmente, el derecho a la salud y su relación con la educación sexual. De este modo, los entornos sociales más frecuentes de discriminación se dan en el trabajo y la familia, pues es allí donde la sociedad impone una etiqueta a los VIH positivos para evitar compartir con ellos y, de esta manera, “contagiarse”; esto, a pesar de que el estigma no tiene un fundamento biológico debido a que ya hay formas de controlar y prevenir el virus. En definitiva, es un desafío social, por un lado, entender que las personas que viven con VIH no son un peligro para la sociedad, y, por otro, fomentar la salud y la educación sexual. es-ES
