dc.description Genetically modified foods were created through genetic engineering, which is nothing more than a set of techniques and strategies that allow to obtain, experimentally within the laboratory, new combinations of hereditary material impossible to find in nature. In short, it allows genetic manipulation at will. Over time these practices have been growing and gaining strength in the market; this has led the consumer to question whether these foods are safe for their health, and that’s why clear rules should be established for the use of this new technology, as well as a balance on its implementation, mediating between the environment, the human being and technological development, taking into account that law must ensure that men live harmoniously in all aspects of their lives. en-US
dc.description Los alimentos genéticamente modificados fueron creados gracias a la ingeniería genética, que no es más que un conjunto de técnicas y estrategias que permiten obtener, de modo experimental en el laboratorio, nuevas combinaciones de material hereditario imposibles de encontrar en la naturaleza; en definitiva, permiten la manipulación voluntaria de los genes. Con el tiempo estas prácticas han venido creciendo y tomando fuerza en el mercado; esto ha llevado al consumidor a cuestionarse si estos alimentos son inocuos para su salud y por ello se hace pertinente la intervención del Derecho para establecer reglas claras en el uso de esta tecnología, además de un balance sobre su implementación, que medie entre el medio ambiente, el ser humano y el desarrollo tecnológico. es-ES
