dc.description This book analyzes the insurance business in Colombia during the seventies of the twentieth century and applies the vicissitudes of all branches of insurance, company by company, showing a comparison of the behavior, year by year, of these products and the type of capital they represent, i.e., whether they were foreign or domestic in nature. It also presents a detailed analysis of the financial conditions in which the companies were operating and the activities they were authorized to carry out in Colombia. In the same vein, the case of Compañía Bananera de Seguros S.A. is emphasized in detail, with a comprehensive comparison - from different points of view - between this company and its competitors outlined. The actors involved in it, their actions, their policies, their strategies, their strategic direction, and consequently, their relationship with the political, social, and economic environment of the time are identified. Finally, it also mentions its relationship with other aspects of the financial sector as such and, in particular, with the insurance sector.
