dc.description In this paper the strengthening of the past and present, both in social science and literature of the Caribbean Region, based on the legal foundation that gives us the 1991 Constitution, the Education Act and the fundamentals arises for the educaci6n the future posed by Edgar Morin. From these criteria the critical study of the socio-cultural environment arises in two dimensions (social sciences and literature), to understand and grasp the world and forgotten Caribbean dammed by official institutions. For this purpose, it is proposed to include in the curriculum a Caribbean chair that allows the Caribbean man recognize himself and face the challenges of the new millennium. en-US
dc.description En este trabajo se plantea el fortalecimiento del pasado y presente, tanto en Las ciencias sociales como en la literatura de la Región Caribe, partiendo de la base legal que nos proporciona la Constitución Política de 1991, la Ley General de Educación y los fundamentos para la educaci6n del futuro planteados por Edgar Morín. A partir de estos criterios se plantea el estudio crítico del entorno sociocultural en las dos dimensiones (ciencias sociales y literatura), para comprender y aprehender el mundo Caribe represado y olvidado por las instituciones oficiales. Para tal efecto, se propone incluir en el currículo una catedra Caribe que le permita al hombre caribeño reconocerse a sí mismo y enfrentar los retos del nuevo milenio. es-ES
